Clark's Orthopedic & Medical

Serving Montana since 1957

In 1945, Uncle Earl Thompkins started the Prosthetics and Orthotics program at Shriner’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon.  Knowing his nephew would be an asset to the new program, Earl invited young Ralph Clark to come learn the profession at Shriner’s.  After his training in Portland, Ralph moved his family to Great Falls where he started the business now known as Clark’s Orthopedic.  It wasn’t long before his son, Richard (Dick) became interested in the “family business.”  Dick schooled at Cerritos College and U.C.L.A. in Southern California and received one of the first degrees in Prosthetics and Orthotics.  Naturally, Dick joined his father and later purchased the business from Ralph.  Dick and his wife, Bunny, are the owners of Clark's Orthopedic and both work full-time in the business.  Now all of Dick's children live in Great Falls and three of them work directly in the business on a daily basis - following in the steps of the past three generations and are working in the Clark family business and tradition of serving others.
